Her Excellency Lady Alice Fcrgusson opened the flower show which was held in the lounge of the Auckland Lyceum Club by (he gardening circle. Mrs. Herbert and her daughter have returned to Wellington. Mrs. L, McFarlane, Kaiwarra, is visiting Christchurch.

Mrs. M. Sutherland, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland. Mrs. IV. A. Veitch arrived in Wanganui from Wellington on Wednesday. Mrs. J. P. Mackay, who has been the guest of Mrs. F. W. Rowley, Kelburn, lias returned to her home at Khandallah. Miss Barnicoat, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. A. 11. E. Wall, Wanganui, has returned to Wellington. Mrs. McKechnie, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Hague Smith, Wanganui, has returned to Wellington. Miss Cooper has returned from Christchurch, where she attended the BallinMyers wedding. Mr. and Mrs. J. Myers and Miss Marjorie Myers have returned from Christchurch. Miss Kathleen Price, Christchurch, has returned from a holiday visit to Wellington. The following staff nurses at Welling--ton Hospital have been promoted to sisters: Nurses H. Somerville, R. Keith, N. McKenzie, and C. Pollock.
