Mrs. R. S. Mitchell, of Wellington, is in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Webb have returned from Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. H. Wynyard are Wellington visitors to Christchurch. Miss Hicks, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland. Miss Gertrude Watkin is visiting Christchurch. Mrs. J. A. McGrath has returned from Auckland. Mrs. Herbert Elworthy, of Wellington, is visiting Christchurch. AJr. nnd Mrs. W. J. Ross have returned to Wellington from a visit to Mount Cook and the Southern Lakes. Guests at the Chateau Tongariro include Mr. and Mrs. Hurst Seager, of Wellington. Miss R. Muir was elected president of the Canterbury Trained Nurses' Association at. a meeting held in Christchurch on Monday. t 'Mr. and Mrs. Don, Wellington, will leave by the Ruapehu, bound for England, from Port Chalmers, on Saturday next. Miss Jessie Forsyth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Forsyth, of Levy Street, is at present recovering in Sydney from an operation for appendicitis. Miss Forsyth had been in England and the Continent, and became ill on leaving Colombo on the voyage home. Miss Maud Royden’s friends in New Zealand will be sorry to hear that the rest which she was ordered after her world tour is being still further extended in order that she can go on for a somewhat longer period with the treatment which she is now undergoing. Her long and arduous world tour with its almost ceaseless engagements imposed a great strain on her, from which she is not yet recovered. Mrs. M. S. Primmer, a New Zealand journalist, is now engaged in press work at Paris, and will be there for some time (says a London correspondent). She is also contributing to a large Edinburgh paper, “The Schoolmistress,” a leading educational journal, which has commissioned her to write twelve articles on her travels. The 8.8. C. has also asked Mrs. Primmer to give an address on New Zealand.
