Mr J A. Nash, M.P., of Palmerston North, left last night for Auckland, where he will attend the Masonic Communication, which will open to-day. Dr. E. Marsden, secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, has been visiting Palmerston North on ’departmental business, especially in connection with the research work carried on by the English scientists in respect of frozen meat. The Rev. AV. Elliott, Knox Church, Gonville, has been extended a call to AVhangarei Presbyterian Church. , Sincere regret at the departure to-oay of Mr. J. H. McLean, Chief Postmaster at Wanganui, for a similar post m A\ ellington, was voiced nt the gathering ot the Post and Telegraph employees on Monday afternoon. Me lea ’s departure, and in asking him to accent an electric reading lamp on behalf ot the staff, wished him every success in the future. Mr. Drake, of the Mopey Order and Savings ißank .Department, and Mr. Graham, supervisor of stamps, and Miss Roche, supervisor of the Telephone Exchange. all expressed appreciation ot Mr. McLean’s work in AVanganui. and wished both Mr. and Mrs. McLean happiness in their new home.
