BOWLEY SUFFERING FROM SCIATICA TO RECEIVE TREATMENT AT ROTORUA Dominion Special Service. Clu-istchurch, November 26. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council has acceded toa cabled request from A. H. Gilligan, captain of the M.C.C. team, that E. H. Bowley shall be allowed to leave Sydney for New Zealand this week so that he may receive treatment at Rotorua for sciatica. This, it is hoped, will make Bowley fit to rejoin the team as soon as it arrives in the Dominion. COUNTRY TEAM TO PLAY THE TOWN Tlie annual trial of strength between elevens representing the town and country players of the wide district under the wing of the Wellington Cricket Association as far as Plunket Shield games are concerned always creates lively interest, as it enables the public to see the pick of players from the minor associations in action. This year’s match will be played at the Basin Reserve on Eriday and Saturday next, and should provide some attractive cricket, although the full strength of neither town nor country will take part. It is a matter for regret that no players from either Taranaki or Wanganui will be on the country side this season. However, the sole selector for the country (Mr. A. M. Ongley) has got together a side which should make the town eleven look, to their laurels. The Country team will be as follows — T. C. Lowry (Hawke’s Bay). D. Cameron (Rangitikei). N. Gallichan (Manawatu). W. Norris (Manawatu). B. Baumber (Manawatu). L. Pacey (Manawatu). H. B. Massey (Wairarapa). F. Hoar (Wairarapa). E. R. Neale (Nelson). J. Newman (Nelson). R. Ralfe (Nelson). Keserves: K. Uttley (Waiarapa) and D. Balloon (Wairarapa).
