DEADLOCK STILL UNSETTLED MINERS’ PRESSURE ON MINISTRY (Rec. November 24, 5.5 p.m.) Canberra, November 24. The coal Headlock is still unsettled. Yesterday’s conference of parties adjourned till Wednesday. Meanwhile the miners’ representatives will report the proposals discussed to their executives on Tuesday. The Prime Minister (Mr. Scullin) announced that he was hopeful of a successful outcome; the parties weie quite friendly. The New South Wales Government had agreed to abstain from re-opening the Rothbury colliery until after Wednesday. It is reliably reported that the miners’ representatives are bringing pressure on the Federal Ministry to advance financial aid to the miners in order to obviate a wage reduction.
