REMARKABLE CASES OF LONGEVITY
108-YEAR MOTHER FOLLOWS DAUGHTER’S FUNERAL WOMEN REACH GREAT AGE (Rec. November 24, 11 p.m.) London, November 23. Two remarkable instances of longevity are reported to-day. The Hon. Katherine Plunket, daughter of the second Baron, celebrated her 109th birthday at Baly IMascanian House, Dundalk. At the centenarian's request there were no demonstrations by the villagers. Her health is remarkably good. Her birthday meal consisted of turkey, ham and vegetables. <She says she feels in better health than she has done for ten years, as her rheumatism and bronchitis have disappeared. * The second case is reported from Paris, where Madame Petit Jean, a widow, aged 81, was buried at Chalons-sur-Saone. The chief mourner following the coffin to the grave was her mother, aged 108.
