ST. JOSEPH’S ORPHANAGE
On Wednesday evening the Mayor (Mr. Ci. A. Tronp) will open the sale 'of work at the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall, organised for St. Joseph’s Orphanage. The sale of work will be open for a season of four nights and two afternoons (Thursday and Saturday), and will conclude on Saturday evening. The enre and the responsibility of some three hundred children is a very heavy burden on the Sisters of Mercy, who. with no fixed income, are bravely carrying on this great work of charity. They rely entirely upon the generosity of those charitably disposed. It is hoped that the sale of work will result in a good total being raised as a Christmas gift from the citizens of Wellington to the big family of 300 children housed in the orphanage.
