PROVINCIAL ITEMS.
Mrs. Bishop, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. W. Gardner. Wanganui. Mrs. J. J. Hart. Marlborough, is the guest of Sirs. Tait, Wanganui. Mr. and Mrs. D. It. Brown, Marton, will leave shortly to take up residence in Wellington. Mrs. J. M. McLean, Wanganui, was entertained at afternoon tea by the start of the Wanganui Automatic Telephone Exchange on Friday afternoon prior to her departure for Wellington, to which city -*• has been transferred. Miss Ritchie, supervisor, on behalf of the staff, presented Mrs. McLean with a small memento of her stay in Wanganui an/ also a beautiful bouquet. The combined Girl Guide companies of Cliristeh Church and Clifton House, Wanganui, held a most successful garden partv at the residence of Mrs. J. R. Franklin, St. John’s Hill, on Saturday afternoon. There, was a large attendance of parents and friends, who were very interested in the Guide drill, company dancing, ets. The stalls did very good business. as did the competitions. The lawn tennis was won by Misses V. Hine and M. Thomas, the putting by Mrs. Broderick and Mr. W. Montgomerie, and the toy 'dog competition by Miss June Hickson.
