— ♦' —■ —- ' OPENING NEW WING. Carterton, November 22. Advice that the Wellington Education Board would subsidise a new flagpole and two concrete cricket pitches, was received ■at ..a meeting last, night of the Carterton School Committee. The board, in its letter;'further asked to be supplied with a list of furnishings required for the teachers’ room, and stated that arrangements yvould be made for ,delivery before the Visit of the Minister of Education to officially open the school. The. headmaster reported the attendance averages for the last five weeks were:—Primary department, 334, 337, 336, .314, 346, from a roll of 367. Secondary department, 37, 36, 36, 20, 36, roll . number, 38. It was decided to advise the Education Board that the committee desired the Minister of Education to officially open the side school.
