PROVINCIAL PERSONALS Mr. A. D. Macintosh, for tiie last nine years chairman of tiie Wanganui County Council, passed away at his residence, Okoia, Wanganui, yesterday afternoon, after a long and severe illness. Deceased. who was 60 years of age, came to New Zealand with his late parents from Scotland in 1885 and had farmed successfully in the district ever since. He was a tower of strength to all public activities. Tie leaves a widow, one son and a daughter. Air. L. D. Lovelock, of Palmerston North, will take up his appointment ns town clerk of Pahiatua on Monday next. Mr. J. A. Nash. M.P.. has received advice that tiie Hon. G. W. Forbes (Minister of Lands) will visit Palmerston North on Monday. The friends of Mr. W. McKenzie, of Palmerston North, will regret to learn that his condition shows no apparent improvement, and he is unlikely to be about for some time. Mr. W. T. Penny, secretary of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association. is reported to be as well as can be expected. He is still confined to his bed.
