On the occasion of his retirement from the position of general manager of the “Timaru Herald” Company, after a period of 28 years in the company’s service, Mr. M. J. Doyle was yesterday met by members of the directorate and representatives of every department of the “Herald.” and made the recipient of a handsome tea and coffee service, in recognition of his long and valued association with the company (states n Press Association telegram). The presentation was made by Mr. E. G. Kerr, chairman of directors, who paid a tribute to the work of Mr. Doyle, who had worked himself up from clerk to general manager and director. Mr. C. E.
