UNION COMPANY MAKES PREPARATIONS.
The Union Company announces that in addition to the usual sailings in the Wellington-Lyttelton service at Christ-mas-time, the Wahine will make social trips from Wellington on Sunday, December 22, at 7.45 p.m., and Tuesday, December 24, at 8.15 a.m., the Maori taking the Wahine’s sailing from Wellington on Monday, December 23, at 7.45 p.m. The trip of the Wahine on the Tuesday will be a daylight one, the vessel being due at Lyttelton about 5.30 in the afternoon, and enabling passengers to connect with the night train for the south. In the Wellington-Picton service the Tamahine will continue to run the usual three trips a week, leaving Wellington on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 3 p.m. From December 14 for the rest of the summer season she will return again from Picton on Fridays, and make an extra trip from Wellington on Saturdays, leaving at 1.15 p.m., arriving back from Picton on Sunday evening. For passengers going across from Wellington on Friday or Saturday and back the following day, Sunday, a reduced return week-end fare will be Christmas and New Year sailings of the Tamahine from Wellington to Picton in lieu of the ordinary time-table will be Tuesday, December 24, 1.15 p.m., and 11 p.m.; Friday, December 27, 3 p.m.; Saturday, December 28, 1.15 p.m.; Monday, December 30, 3 p.m.; Tuesday. December 31. 1.15 p.m.; Thursday, January 2, 1.15 p.m. Excursions from Wellington to Picton will be made by the-Maori on Thursday, December 26, and the Wahine on Thursday, January 2, the vessels leaving Wellington at 8 a.m., and arriving back from Picton about 5.30 p.m.
