Clementel has abandoned his attempt to form a Ministry owing to the Radical-Socialists demanding that they should first approve of his programme. London, October 31. “The Times” Paris correspondent reports that M. Tardieu has provisionally accepted the task of forming a Cabinet. [M. Tardieu was Minister of the Interior in M. Briand’s last Cabinet. During the war he became High Commissioner for France in the United States, and he played an important part in drafting the Treaty of Versailles.]
