BLOCKS ALLOCATED BY BALLOT By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, November 1. Southland’s claim to be a sportsman’s paradise is supported by the record number of applications for deer, wapiti, and moose licenses received by the Southland Acclimatisation Society. The blocks were allocated by ballot to-day. The successful applicants for the three wapiti blocks were Messrs. Nitz Brothers (Masterton), G. M. Crabbe and A. J. Wickwai (Ayton), and Mr. and Mrs. K. Sutherland (Wairarapa). For the red deer blocks, R. Taylor and J. L. Angus (Havelock North), John Anderson (Melbourne), and G. Taylor (Dunedin), were the successful applicants outside of Southland.
