TALL BUILDINGS
The alleged propensity of the United States for large things may seem to some to have reached its limit with the announced 75-story building for Chicago. This tremendous structure, planned to rise 880 ft. above the street level, promises to be not alone tbe tallest building in the world, but indeed the largest. For many years, the record for height has been held by the Woolworth Building in New’ York City, which is 792 ft. tall, with 50 storys. The Chrysler Building, now under construction the same city, will be 808 ft. tall, afra will contain 63 storys. But the Chrysler Building had been under construction only a few’ months when the new Bank for Manliattau Building was announced, S4oft. high with 63 storys and a tow’er. The tallest building in Great Britain is 210 ft. high.
