HOMING PIGEONS
BACE FROM HELENSVILLE. The Petone Homing Pigeon Club flew a race from Helensville last Saturday, an air line distance of 318 miles. The birds had a head wind and did not put up very fast times. Tlie following are the results: H. Hall’s r.c.c. .Redstone, velocity 988.3 yards per minute 1 H. Hall’s b.c.c. Bluestone, velocity P 88.2 yards per minute 2 C. Culshaw’s b.c.c. First Up, velocity 087.4 yards per minute 3 G. Mexted’s b.c.c. No. 86, 1926, velocity 984.9 yards per minute 4 C. Carters b.c.c. Rascal, velocity 957.6
yards per minute 5 W. Asplet’s b.c.c. No. 46. 1927, velocity 934.7 yards per minute 6 The next race will be flown from Whangarci.
