A bird which is believed to be a rare visitor to Dunedin was seen on the harbour front in the vicinity of Portobello the other day. It. is somewhat similar to a guinea fowl in size and colour, with the exception that it is a little darker, and has long legs, a long bin, and a rather sharp, narrow head. A man who has lived on the Peninsula for 50 years informed a reporter that he had never seen such a bird previously.
