POLICE, BY-LAW, AND CIVIL CASES

Mr. E. Page, S.M., dealt with police cases in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Maurice O’Neill, alias Charles Daly, alias Janies Cole, aged 38, was fined £l, in default seven days’ imprisonment for bis third offence of drunkenness. George Pivac, a labourer, aged 23, was remanded to appear at Hamilton next Friday on a charge of stealing an electric hair-clipping machine valued at £25. BY-LAW CASES Offenders against the by-laws were dealt with by Mr. T. E. Mauusell, S.M. The Cunningbum Carrying Co. was fined 10s. for failing to obtain a heavy traffic license. , Arthur Vowles was fined £3 for using unregistered premises as an eating-house. George Allen was fined 10s. for having no lights. For leaving their cars unattended. Edward Cakebread, Ross D. Gore, Stanley H. Hunt, and Minnie Livick were each fined 10s. William Campbell was fined £1 for having no driver’s license. For a like offfjiee Guiseppe Barnao and Reginald Stowe were each fined 10s. Barnao was also convicted, and ordered to pay 10s. and costs, for driving the wrong way in a one way street. Nagib Gamed and William H. Parata were each fined 10s. for parking less than 15ft. from a building line. Roy H. Dellow was fined 10s. for parking in a prohibited area. For failing to give a signal when turning his vehicle . Edward A. Pay was fined £2. Charles Watt was fined £1 for having no number-plates, and a like amount for having no lights. Driving the wrong way in a one way street cost Henry Webster 10s.
