A SUCCESSFUL CAMP. There were nearly seventy iuen gathered at the Hutt:Park during the week-end, when a cainp was held under the auspices of the Wellington Baptist Young Men’s . Bible Class Union. It proved, most successful. • ' - . A debate was held on the Saturday evening on the subject “That India should be granted Dominion Home Rule,” the negative team, Messrs. Mas- , sam, Coop and Whitmarsh (Auckland) being the winners. The Wellington team (Messrs. Francis, Lovatt, and Roseyear) took the affirmative. A camp concert fol- ' lowed the debate. On Sunday morning a -Devotional meeting and Communion service was conducted by the president (Mr. A. Edridge), and this was followed by an interesting Bible study entitled "What - shall we do on Sunday?” Mr. M. A. Tremewan was in charge of the meeting. The evening camp service was conducted by the Rev. Eric W. Batts, of the Lyall Bay Church. The secretary of the union (Air. H. A. Harris) led the devotional meeting on Monday morning. Later an athletic t sports meeting was held, at which the Lyall Bay class won the senior trophy, and the Berhampore class the junior trophy. Mr. T. Lovatt (Lyall Bay) won the senior championship, with Mr. R. Garnham (Lyall Bay) as runner-up. Mr. K. ■ Patience (Berhampore) was junior champion. with Mr. Q, Wallis (Island Bay) • as runner-up. At the close of the sports • programme the many visitors to the camp were entertained with organised games. The final social gathering .was held in the evening at the Y.W:C.A. Hall, the ' M.C. being Mr. E. G. Peek. The union president presented the sports trophies at this function.
