COMPENSATION CLAIM
LEGAL ADVICE FOR UNIONS. Dominion Speciai Service Dunedin, October 2. In past years labour unions, owing largely to lack of co-operation, have always been faced with considerable expense when dealing with compensation claims by workers. In obtaining legal advice as to the handling of cases each union usually has its own legal adviser, but when a compensation case comes along he sometimes acts also for the insurance company concerned. In this case the union has to communicate with some other solicitor. , To get over this difficulty the Otago District Council of the Alliance of Labour is making plans to engage a solicitor to attend to all compensation cases on behalf of members of affiliated unions.
