XTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN ttat at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council held on Monday, the 30th day of September, 1929, the following resolution was passed : — The Wellington City Council, pursuant to the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1926, and their respective Amendments, and to an Order-in-Councu issued under the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, dated the 19th day of August, 1929, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette of the 22nd day of August, 1929, Number 58, at page 2142, and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers (If any) it enabling doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order:— 1. That a Special Loan of Fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000), to be known as “The Wellington City Unemployment Loan, 1029, No. 3,” be raised by the Wellington City Council for the purpose of carrying out public works for the relief of unemployment, namely, the construction of approaches to the proposed tunnel through Mount Victoria, the object of the Local Authority in undertaking such works being primarily to provide employment for men who would otherwise be without employment or without sufficient employment to enable them to maintain themselves and their families in a reasonable condition of comfort. . 2. That the interest on the said Loan be at a rate not exceeding Five pounds ten shillings (£5 10s.) per centum per annum, payable half-yearly during, the currency of the said Loan, being a period not exceeding Ten (10) years from the 31st day of October, 1929. 3. That a sinking fund of not less than One pound (£1) per centum per annum be established in connection with the said Loan. 4. That the security for the interest, sinking fund, and other charges and repayment of the said Loan be a special rate on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Wellington so calculated as to yield interest and sinking fund and other charges on the said Loan and 10 per cent, additional on these amounts. 5. That One hundred and fifty (150) debentures each for One hundred pounds (£100) and relative coupons in a form in conformity with the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, be executed, sealed, and issued. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the resolution will be submitted for confirmation at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council to be held on Friday, the 11th day of October, 1929, at 4.30 p.m., at the Council Chamber, Town Hall, Cuba Street, Wellington.
