HEMP PRICES LOW HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, date London, September 28, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. Hemp. Manila market depressed and weak under selling . pressure and poor support. Closing value for "J” grade, October December shipments, £36. . Sisal: Market quiet. Tanganyika No. I quoted sellers, September-November ship meats, fair average quality £39, good marks, £4O ss. No. 2 meets little better inquiry on account of relative cheapness compared with Mexican. There was a very large entry of store cattle whleh was not keenly sought after. The firm sold on account of Mr. F. Krull his annual consignment of two-year-old Aberdeen Angus bulls, which were in good condition, and showing good breeding, were sold under spirited competition, averaging a shade under 33 guineas.
