TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Friday, August 30, 1929, 4 p.m. A moderate depression crossed the South Island to-day. Pressure is rather high on the Northern Tasman, while a fresh depression is moving on to South-Eastern Australia. Moderate to strong winds between north-west and south-west. Seas rather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate to strong west to north-west winds in the Eastern Tasman Sea, with rather rough to rough seas. Weather mainly fair and mild, but some scattered showers, chiefly in districts with a westerly aspect.
