NEED FOR ACCOMMODATION.

Palmerston North, August 30.

“At the rate of progress which we are making we must have additional accommodation next winter,” stated Professor Riddet, in extending a welcome to a party of about 50 Marton farmers who held a field day at Massey Agricultural College to-day. The present facilities ■were extremely congested, stated the professor.

Professor Riddet apologised for the absence of the principal, Professor I’eren, who was engaged in instructional duties. After outlining the courses that were available at the college, he conducted the party over the New Zealand Dairy Research Institute’s laboratory and the factory. After lunch. Mr. .Scrivener (soil chemist) explained the work that was being carried out in manorial experiments, and Mr. McLinden, M.R.C.V.S., conducted the party through the pigarea and milking sheds Those specially interested in sheep accompanied Mr. McCulloch, who explained the activities in that direction.
