STAR OF THE EAST

KRISHNAMURTI DISSOLVES ORDER MRS. BESANT’S BELIEF IN “WORLD TEACHER” TRUSTS TO PUBLISH WRITINGS Krishnamurti, the "New Messiah.” has announced the dissolution of the Order of the Star of the East. Mrs. Besant says that his writings will be published by various trusts. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph. —Copyright.) Australian Press Association. London, August 5. Mrs. Annie Besant, whose path with Krishnamurti, the “new Messiah,” has not been without pitfalls, has bowed to the dramatic announcement of the young prophet at the National Congress in Holland that the Order of the Star of the East is henceforth dissolved. Krishnamurti said: “Religious philosophers need no organisation, yet the members of the Order are unwilling to face truth. What then is the use of the organisation?” Mrs. Besant announces that, considering Krishnamurti’s viewpoint, a dissolution of the Order appears a logical step. Various trusts will carry out the publication of Krishnamurti’s writings and bring his message to the world. “That message is only partly understood at present, but it contains profound truths, and will be more fully appreciated as humanity evolves. My fundamental belief in Krishnamurti as a world teacher makes me more inclined to observe and study than to pronounce an opinion on the method chosen by one whom I consider far my superior.” Mr. George Lansbury, in a visit to the camp of the Star of the East, stated that Krishnamurti’s declaration was just what he expected. “He represents the new thought of our time and refuses to organise either mental or moral crutches for mankind. I rejoice that Krishnamurti has broken the bondage of a mere organisation and is relying solely on the truth of his teachings and their appeal to mankind.”
