CRANE COLLAPSES
WORKMAN HURLED TO DEATH Australian Press Association. (Rec. August 4, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, August 4. A crane collapsed at the Temperance and General Insurance Company’s now building on Saturday. Douglas Canning crashed with it 150 feet to the Elizabeth Street tram line, and was killed. His body and features were mutilated beyond recognition. Hundreds of pedestrians, horrified, fled in all directions.
