TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.

Meteorological Office, Wellington, Sunday, August 4, 1929, 4 p.m. An anti-cyclone has been crossing New Zealand to-day with its centre * to the northwards. A deep depression is now advancing over the Southern Tasman Sea. Moderate to strong westerly to northerly winds, freshening and reaching gale force at places from Cook Strait southwards. Generally moderate seas in New Zealand waters, but becoming rough soon south of Gape Egmont. Moderate to strong northerly winds in the Eastern Tasman Sea, of gale force in the central and southern portions with rising seas. Weather fair to fine and mild at first; later cloud increasing, more especially in western districts, where rain is likely to develop soon.
