WANGANUI NOTES
Wanganui, August 3. The Wanganui Mayor's Earthquake Relief Fund now amounts to £2383 4s. 3d. The Wanganui Harriers met at Jlr. Roland Young's residence, Upper Aramaho to-day, and had a stiff six-iniles’ run over excellent country. H. Johnston won, with G. Jloore second and E. Froinont third. Jlr. and Jlrs. Young, Jun. provided welcome afternoon tea. Castlecliff and Railway Jliniature Rifle Clubs, met at the railway range during the week, and Castlecliff won by 31 points. The Castlecliff total was 656, aud Railway’s 625. The results of the Railway Club’s monthly shoots are as follow: Herbert Cup. won by Eastown Workshops by a margin of 4 points: Stower’s Cup, won by F. Grubb for the second time after shooting off four times; Williams’s Trophy, won by D. Woods, after firing off 'aur times.
