Meteorological Office, Wellingt - Friday, August 2. 1929, 4 p.m. An anti-cvclone covering the Tasman Sea will . -obably pass to the north of New Zealand. ' Pressure Is still rather low east of the South Island. Winds south-westerly to westerly and later in places north-westerly; strong in Foveaux Strait; elsewhere moderate but freshening from Cook Strait southwards. Rather rough swell south of C itlepoint; otherwise moderate in New Zealand waters, but rising later south of Cape Egmont. Moderate to strong south-west to west winds in the Eastern Tasman; generally moderate seas, but rising In the southern portion. Weather unsettled and showery in the western districts of the South Island; scattered showers also in other districts with a westerly aspect. Elsewhere mainly fair to fine.
