LOSS ON COMPETITIONS
POSITION IN PALMERSTON. . Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North, August 2. Speaking at the annual general meeting of the Manawatu Competitions Society tonight, the chairman, Mr. M. H. Oraon, stated that actually the recent festival had been run with a loss of £35. This was mainly, due to bad weather, which marred ’ the house in the early stages of the festival, but, ho said, he did not think they could look forward to bigger houses than they had had in the past. It was decided to recommend the incoming executive to make an effort to bring the syllabus out before November in view of the success of the innovation last year.
