RAIN
Gentle rail has fallen, Soft as summer dezu, The earth is fresh and green to-day, The sky is clear and blue.
The dimpling streams rush onzvard, Singing, to the sea, The butterflies zving out again, Joyous, bright and free.
The grime and dust are zvashed away, The earth is clean again, The birds break out in blithest song, In praises for the rain. —By “Laughing Water,” Aged 12 years, Karori.
