MANY PUBLIC BEQUESTS. Dominion Special Service. Auckland, August 2. A number of bequests to public institutions, especially to those connected with the Methodist Church, are provided for in the will of the late Stephen James Ambury, who died on July 23, leaving an estate which has been valued for probate purposes at £50,000. Beques'ts of £250 each are made to Dr. Barnardo’s Homes, London, to the Sailors’ Home, Auckland, to the Salvation Army Children’s Home at Ponsonby, and to the Auckland Institute and Museum. ’ After many private bequests have been provided for, the residue of the estate is to be divided into 40 parts, some of which are to go to individuals and two each to the New Zealand Methodist Home Missions, to the New Zealand Methodist Foreign Missions, to the Methodist Theological Training College and the Wesley Training College, and one part each to Dr. Stephenson s Children’s Home, London, to the Y.W.C.A. and Y.M.C.A., Auckland, to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, and to Mount Albert Orphanage. The remaining parts are to be divided by the trustees at their discretion among Protestant charitable institutions or objects.
