The new Colonial Douglas—the wonderful B/29 250c.c.-has been built to give exceptional X under hardest conditions, and the new design brings improvements which place it right ahead in its class. The horizontally opposed twin power unit develops tremendous power with amarine acceleration. Douglas easy starting has ever been famous, and the new B/29 model gets away “on the tick.” Riding comfort, especially with the new Terry saddle, is exceptional, and there is no vibration at any speed. The new and more rigid frame has top rail to allow for the graceful saddle tank, and the double bottom rails carry the engine and sump. The tank, which is high, raises the centre of gravity, but any danger of skidding is discounted by the low position of the sump. Improvements include new and better gear changes on side of tank, improved footrest supports, larger and more efficient mudguards, new larger capacity silencer.
