The criminal session of the Supreme Court was .advanced another stage toa The hearing of the charges against Frederick Arthur Lloyd, until recently-clerk of the Maniototo County Council,- was concluded, the accused being found guilty ot receiving money and failing to account for it to the Council, and of omitting to pay certain moneys over £lO into the bank within seven days. He was remanded until Friday for sentence. John Milne, charged with unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16 years, was found not guilty and was discharged from custody. Thomas Scurr, an auctioneer in th’ city, was called on to answer a charge <>t misappropriating the sum of £262. the property of the assignee in an estate Accused pleaded not guilty. Evidence for the prosecution was heard, and the Court their adjourned until to-morrow morning, when counsel for the accused will address the jury.
