Meteorological Office, Wellington, Wednesday, July 31, 1929.

The northern cyclone has passed away eastward, but there is still a deep depression south of Chatham Island. An intense anti-cyclone covers Eastern Australia. Strong southerly winds and rathei rough seas in the Eastern Tasman.

Weather still cold, changeable, and somewhat unsettled with showers on scattered places, especially at the northern and southern extremities of the Dominion. Improving gradually later. Many frosts to-night.
