LAND AGENT SENTENCED
IMPRISONMENT FOR THREE MONTHS. Theodore Melville .Tennens, land agent, •wl>o wgs found guilty In the Supreme Court on Tuesday of fraudulently converting £5O to his own use was yesterday sentenced by Mr. Justice MacGregor to three months’ imprisonment. Mr. B. Egley, for the prisoner, said he hoped His Honour would find grounds for Imposing a fine, together with a period of probation. Restitution of the money had been made. His Honour said the maximum punishment was five years’ imprisonment or a fine of £2OO. He would, however, treat the erime on its merits, and prisoner would be sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. He did not think it was a case for probation.
