McLeod, manager of the All Black team, outlining his impressions of the tour at a council meeting of the New South Wales Rugby Union, said that Australian Rugby had Improved, and that the present New Zealand team was not one whit inferior to past Dominion combinations. The manager added that the game could not be played more cleanly than in Australia, but he sttuck a disconcerting note when he expressed the opinion that obstruction in various positions, such as line-outs, was a specialised business here. He assured delegates that If the system were tolerated, Australians would receive harsh treatment from New Zealand referees.
