MERELY A TEMPORARY SETBACK NO QUESTION OF ANY OPERATION (United I’re=s Association. —By Electric Telegraph. —Copyright.) (British Official Wireless,) Rugby, June 2. The improvement in the King’s health, which ■ was announced yesterday, has been received with widespread feelings of relief, and the fact that daily bulletins will no longer be issued is taken as a sign that the present illness is merely a temporary setback. Authoritative reports emanating from Windsor Castle yesterday were no less reassuring. It is understood that there is no question of even a minor operation to secure the draining of the abscess.

To-day it was stated that there was no change to report in the King’s condition. The King will celebrate his sixtyfourtL birthday to-morrow, but owing to his illness he will be .nable to attend the annual ceremony of the trooping of the colours i the Horse Guards Parade. His place will be taken by his uncle, the Duke of Connaught, who will be attended by the Prince of Wales, the Duke of York, and Captain Viscount Lascelles. Australian Press Association. London, June 2. The King’s condition is unchanged. No bulletin was issued. The doctors will make a statement to-night. QUIET DAY ON SUNDAY Australian Press Acsn.—United Service. (Rec.
