SEVEN CANDIDATES NOMINATED. Palmerston North, May 17. With seven candidates offering their services, nominations for the vacant seat on th t Palmerston North Borough Council, caused by the resignation of Council, lor Milverton, closed at noon to-day. Five of the candidates at the last election, Messrs. Edwards, Canton, McLeod, Pycroft, and Allerby, have again offered their services. Messrs. Taylor and Andrew, who were candidates at the last election, are not contesting the seat. Messrs. Lovelock and Mason did not stand at the last election. Following are the candidates: —Francis Cornelius Allerby, Henry James Canton, Robert Edwards, David Josiah Lovelock. Richard Vallance Mason, John McLeod, Frederick Pycroft. The by-electlon will take place on Wednesday week, May 29. . '
