CUSTOMS REVENUE
SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE An increase of £72,000 in the Customs revenue collected at the Port of Wellington is shown when the April figures are compared with those for the corresponding month last year. The figures are as follow: — April, 1929, £ s. d. Net Customs 254,713 13 2 Beer ditty 4,648 1 0 April, 1928. £ s. d. Net customs 182,866 10 4 Beer duty 4,182 19 8 The motor spirit tax yielded £37,123 Ils. 4d., and the tire tax £6120 13s. sd.
