The offering in sheep comprises straight-bred station Romney Cross lines, which we can confidently recommend to anyone on the lookout for sheep of this description. The 5-year-old ewes are a very high-class line of early shorn chisel-mouth sheep. The wethers will be early shorn sheep carrying a lot of condition and suitable for topping off. Mr. Ross’s Yards are within 5 miles of the railway and arrangements have been made with the Railway Department to have sufficient trucks on hand to get the stock away immediately after the Sale. Intending purchasers from either North or South will be met on the morning of the Sale at the “Gretna” Hotel, Taihape, at 5.30 a.m. or “King’s Court” Hotel, Ohakune, at 9 a.m. Northern buyers can arrive on the Wellington Express, reaching Ohakune at 4.30 in the morning, and leave again on the return journey on the Auckland Express at a quarter to ten that night. It will be necessary for Southern buyers to go as far as Ohakune the night previous to the Sale.
