The Municipal Savings Bank at Darmstadt has placed at the disposal of its clients a clock which will only go if. it is fed at regular intervals with the equivalent of a shilling. The stopping of the clock is thus a reminder to continue saving. All the 27 cases of murder recorded in London in 1927 were solved by Scotland Yard, and £130,000 worth ot stolen property recovered. Of 1932 motor-cars motor-cycles stolen throughout Great Britain in the same period, 1418 were recovered. Mrs. A. H. Rantell, of Catford, has hail a wireless device installed for keeping watch over her baby upstairs. A horn loud-speaker used as a microphone is connected with the wireless set, and the baby’s coo or cry is audible downstairs.
