WELLINGTON CLUB The weather being all that could be desired. 32 members turned out on Saturday and covered the flve-mile course which was well laid by A. Stoles and D. Canton. After leaving Island Bay, the trail led up the ridge at the back of Athletic Park almost to Brooklyn, where It turned down the gully, coming out on to Happy Valley Road. From this point a go-as-you-please run was held down to the Marine Drive, and a number took the opportunity of going a fast mile. Over the last 800 yards a run-in was held, and in a good finish V. Klee won from J. Shepherd nnd J. O’Brien. Klee’s run was full of merit, his finish being very determined. J. O'Brien ran well without much luck. Shepherd snatching second place by Inches. E. Green went well while his condition lasted, and looked a winner at one stage, lint the run up tlie hill found him out. 11. Wickham is another member who is showing improvement in both style and pace. A few members showed timidity In covering some ot tlie gorse country.
