A short review of his career in municipal politics was given by Mr. T. Bloodworth. a candidate fcr the Mayoralty of Auckland, in an address recently. His family -before him had identified themselves with municipal affairs, Mr. Bloodworth said. “Indeed, some 300 years ago a Sir Thomas Bludworth was Lord Mayor of London.” he added. ‘‘l cannot'trace back my ancestry and claim him as one of my forbears, but you cannot say he was not. At any rate. I would be safe in sayin'- that I am trying to follow in his footsteps.” A miner at Seaton Delaval. who was given notice of dismissal from East Holywell Colliery, shot his dog and then shot himself in an old quarry.
