The pertinacious little man known as "riliorty,” of whom so much was heard during'the general election campaign last November, turned up at the Grey Lynn Library Hall, when Mr. G. Baildon delivered his opening address as a candidate for the Mayoralty (states the “Star”). “Shorty”’had a good deal to «av, and the chairman, Mr. M. J. Coyle, at last threatened to have him removed if he did not stop interjecting. “No. hes only a little fellow; leave him alone, protested the candidate. “In fact, I think he would make a dashed good exhibit at the Zoo!” Later “Shorty” called out to the chairman: “You’ve got the wind up!’’ Mr. Coyle’s retort made the audience dissolve in laughter: “If I did get the wind up, I’d blow our little friend right away!”
