SHIELDS MEMORIAL TROPHY. The annual teams competition for the Shields Memorial trophy was concluded at Te Aro baths on Wednesday, and resulted as follows: — Clyde Quay, average time per member of team 49.095ec., 1; Hataitai 51.445ec., 2; Roseneath, 51.855ec., 3. In addition, the following championship events were decided: — 50yds. Wellington Centre schoolgirl championship ; standard time, 45sec.—B. Thwaltes (Clyde Quay), 1; I. Staples (Ha-, taltai), 2; M. Pilcher (Kilbirnle), 3.. Time, 41sec. 75yds. schoolgirl championship; standard time, 76sec. —B. Thwaltes (Clyde Quay), 1; • M. Pilcher (Kllbirnie), 2; I. Staples (Hataitai), 3. Time, 73see. 75yds. schoolboy championship; standard time, Olsec.—S. Grouns'eli (Clyde Quay), 1; R. Henderson (Hutt Central), 2; R. Gotlietj (Hataitai), 3. Time, 56 2-ssec. 100yds. schoolboy championship; standard time, 85sec.—S. Grounsell (Clydd Quay), 1; R. Henderson (Hutt Central), 2; R. Gotlieb (Hataitai), 3. Time, 77 l-ssec. The following qualified for standard cer. tificates:—B. Thwaltes. 50yds., 75yds.; M. Pilcher, 75yds.; S. Grounsell, 75yds„ 100 yds.: R. Henderson (Hutt Central), 75yds., 100yds. The remaining events of the schoolgirl and schoolboy championships, together with the presentation of the .trophy, will take place at the schools’ carnival on Saturday, March 16.
