UNEMPLOYMENT

MORE RELIEF DESIRED AT / DUNEDIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Dlarch 6. That the City Council should take immediate steps to raise a loan of £25,000, to be subsidised by the Gov-, ernment, for the relief of unemployment was urged by a deputation from the Otago Labour Council which waited on the council at a meeting to-night. It was stated that there were 400 men out of work here and their dependants numbered about 600. Speakers also asked that standard rates be paid on any relief works started. The deputation was listened to sympathetically and the matter was referred to the Finance Committee for a report. - > "
