May it link nations of the world in peaceful cooperation, and In particular confirm for ever the peace which for over one hundred years has. endured between the United States of America and the British Empire.” Mr. Kellogg has replied expressing deep appreciation of Sir Austen Chamberlain’s telegram, and fpr the cooperation and assistance rendered in the negotiation of the Pact and the promptness with which , the Empire ratifications have been obtained in order to glye an example to the world of the desire of the British Empire to continue to do everything in its power for the maintenance of peace.
