TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.
Meteorological Office, Wellington, March 4, 1929 4 p.m. The pressure distribution is extremely complicated. The cyclone in th_ Tasman is apparently losing intensity, while the depression ov Tasmania is becoming more vigorous. A rather deep depress on developed also near Chatham Islands. \ Winds variable a£ first, south from Cook Strait; elsewhere moderate to strong northerlies and northerlies again becommg general shortly, ant freshening. Seas rather rough about Cook Stiait, but elsewhere smooth to moderate. Moderate to strong north-east to northerly winds and moderate to rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman. Weather cloudy, with mist or fog in places, and scattered -light rain, moie especially in the South Island. Moderate to warm temperatures. With so complicated a pressure system the winds and the distribution of rainfall are likely to be very erratic.
