CANCER RESEARCH
PREPARING FOR CAMPAIGN. A committee comprising Dr. J. S. Elliott, Dr. M. H. Watt, and Mr. A. K. S. Mackenzie has been appointed to draw up the necessary resolutions to be submitted to the public meeting at the Concert Chamber on Friday night as a preliminary to the organisation of a New Zealand branch of the Britisli Empire Cancer Campaign. Should the Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup) be back from the Municipal Conference at Wanganui, he will take the chair at the meeting, but this is not likely as the executive, of which the Mayor is a member, is to meet on Friday following the conclusion of' the conference. Should Mr. Troup be still away. Mr. M. F. Luckie, who is senior councillor, will preside. The Wellington delegates to the Municipal Conference will leave for Wanganui to-day. ’
